Inspector’s Report – Lt. Bret Lindback
Part 1 Crimes down 30% from one year ago
Total Crime down by 15%
One homicide this past week – appears to be result of a narcotic deal – players not from neighborhood.
Small spike in shootings and aggravated assaults – none stranger related – many drug and/or alcohol involvement.
Juneteenth was held this past Sunday - the newer, scaled back event created a lot calmer atmosphere. However the event did draw approximately 3000 attendees – security remained tight and overall things went very well.
Guns – Year to Date – the Fourth Precinct continues to collect more guns each month than the other four precincts combined.
Questions:
17th & Girard shooting – ID’d two gang members; likely by another gang member.
Fremont and Broadway shooting – person shot was being transported by ambulance to hospital when he escaped. He later called from Sharing & Caring hands for medical assistance.
Party at Penn, north of Glenwood on Juneteenth – a toddler walked out onto the street between two parked vehicles and was run over – came out crying but sustained only a broken arm – very lucky child.
Citizen Appreciation Certificate Awards:
Lt. Lindback presented these to the following:
Mark and Susanne Dickison and Jeremy Wieneke
Assisted officers during an arrest of combative assailants.
Tamara Campbell - aided an assault victim at a bus stop which prevented further injury.
Anita Coleman – not present – witness to robbery in January which led to three person arrest.
Old Business:
Elections: Elections delayed until August – July meeting will include a presentation of what board member positions are and what type of commitment is needed to fulfill the duty to serve.
Presentation: Mary Rainville was honored and thanked for her dedication and unwavering support of 4PAC over the past twenty years. Mary has served this organization in various capacities – President, Secretary, Committee Chair, Committee Member, and Fourth Precinct – 4PAC Technical Support. Mary was presented with a memento denoting her service and a Bleeding Heart plant to add to her garden. We hope she will continue to think of us often and fondly.

Dessert Potluck and Fellowship followed.
Next Meeting: Tuesday, July 21, 2009
Respectfully submitted,
Vivian Dagnault
